MEALL BUIDHE WIND FARM

Meall Buidhe Renewables LLP is looking into the feasibility of developing a wind farm on the Croick Estate near Ardgay, Sutherland.

Initial feasibility studies realised great potential for wind energy production on the estate and encouraged the business to work on developing a proposal that is both sensitive and appropriate to the local area.

Following a review of the results of the Environmental Impact Assessment process, Meall Buidhe Renewables LLP plans to submit a planning application for the proposal in the summer of 2020.

This website is intended to allow news and information related to the proposal to be communicated between the project development team and the surrounding local communities.

The area of search for the wind farm proposal is situated approximately 4km southwest of Rosehall and 12km west of Ardgay, in the Scottish Highlands.

The wind farm would be located on the slopes of Meall Buidhe on part of the Croick Estate, whose policies include over 5000 hectares of land. The site comprises of undulating upland habitat, which is located above the plantation woodlands that cover much of the intermediate slopes between the Kyle of Sutherland and the hilltops above Strath Oykel.
