Meall Buidhe Renewables LLP is looking into the feasibility of developing a wind farm on the Croick Estate near Ardgay, Sutherland.

Initial feasibility studies realised great potential for wind energy production on the estate and encouraged the business to work on developing a proposal that is both sensitive and appropriate to the local area.

Over the course of the coming months Meall Buidhe Renewables LLP will continue their studies with the intention of submitting an application in 2019 for consent to build the wind farm.

This website is intended to allow news and information related to the proposal to be communicated between the project development team and the surrounding local communities.

The area of search for the wind farm proposal is situated approximately 6km south of Rosehall, 9km southeast of Oykel Bridge, 11km west of Culrain and 14km northwest of Ardgay, in the Scottish Highlands.

The wind farm would be located on the slopes of Meall Buidhe on part of the Croick Estate, whose policies include over 5000 hectares of land. The site comprises of undulating upland habitat, which is located above the plantation woodlands that cover much of the intermediate slopes between the Kyle of Sutherland and the hilltops above Strath Oykel.

For a more detailed map of the site and it's situation please visit 'Our Proposal' webpage.
